The reason I switched is because nearly every really good pro doesn’t do that. Your buddies are full of crap. ETA: maybe they’re not. AlxTgr pointed out to me that most pro’s switch and a quick perusal of several pros seem to support that, including the Michael Jordan of fishing KVD.
There are articles in Bassmaster seemingly once a year or so about the advantages of reeling with your “weaker or less coordinated” hand and using the dominant for bait control and hook-set strength aside from just pure efficiency.
