I love to talk to people who have different political opinions, but I don’t usually talk about my own opinions on politics with people unless I know them extremely well.

That said-if I end up in a political conversation with someone I don’t know very well- I usually ask them a lot of questions. People on the left looove to talk about how much better they are because of their politics. So they brag about how virtuous their politics are and rarely will they ask you about yours.

You’ll never convince someone to change their political viewpoint, but if you ask them good questions you’ll at least get a better understanding of the another perspective. Plus, maybe they will change their views by recognizing the holes in their thinking (and maybe your own opinions will evolve as well).
