sounds like you made the right call. glad you got it sorted out. like you said, its worth paying pros to go over the entire thing and find any/all issues.

i had a crack in my fiberglass steps that was causing my pool to drain dramatically. took me forever to find someone to fix them - hint - call a boat fiberglass repair company.

You remember about how much they charged you to put a fiberglass patch?
