Maybe it would've hurt him if there was another democrat in the field of challengers. But he's running against 2 republicans. Nobody that supports abortion and is mad at JBE for signing the bill is going to switch to voting R. And it probably helps him keep independent voters and some of the never-Vitter republicans that voted for him in 2015.

I'm not voting for him again. Rispone could do almost anything and he'd still get my vote.

They won’t vote for a republican but they may stay home and he likely loses a lot of national $$
