Biggest question to me is how are you looking to budget your time and money?

Hmm... I appreciate your concern, and I ask myself that question a few times a week as my life has changed a lot in the last year, and still is. Is there a specific issue that I should be concerned with as I visit DC? I'm thinking my priority will be just spending time with my daughter when I visit, but it'd be good to know a variety of options to spend available time and money on any given visit.

Making a quick trip to DC next week before I head on to NYC. Does DC do boiled/steamed crabs like Maryland does? If so, what are some of the best spots around town for some solid crabs/oysters?
