Minn Kota Ulterra prop (when launching boat)

I finally bit the bullet and joined the ipilot world a few months back. I purchased the Minn Kota Ulterra (w/ auto stow/deploy). Does anyone else have a problem with their TM prop hitting their trailer when launching? I noticed this past weekend that it rubbed against the rubber piece that is near where the bow of my boat rests. After some quick research it looks like i should have bought a bracket to mount the TM on. Is this my best option? If so, should i go with the RTA-17 or RTA-54? looks like the RTA-54 is about $100.00 more. Any comments, advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Get the RTA17 unless you have the 72” shaft, if you do, then you need that big 54.

I have that plate and have no issues, just ordered my dad the plate and trolling motor as well. its the most common mounting plate

You lock yours? I put a lil padlock on mine when I took it to the island. Meth head theft is real. It won’t stop them but hopefully slow em down or deter them to the next boat.

Unless you want to move the TM, then try backing down less if you can. Gotta adjust the angle of the dangle so it doesn't hit. Of coarse every ramp is going to be different.

Mine will hit if I back the trailer in way too far.
The only bad thing about those trolling motors is how far everything has to hang off the boat to work. Basically forces you to use a sliding bracket or be creative with locating it

It looks like the RTA-17 bracket that Minn Kota sells is just a mounting bracket. Is there a bracket that would actually allow you to slide is back so that it doesn't hit? Just curious if this is what you were referring to since it looks like with the MK bracket you have to unlock it, and move it out the way when launching- then put it back on the bracket. I appreciate all the replies.

Yep, you need to get this one
LINK
I have a Skeeter Sl210 and the Ulterra.
Slides and locks in place at 2 different positions
Allows you to remove and store it inside if you want
Comes with a retention bolt that could easily be changed out to an anti theft bolt head if desired.

I actually took another step and modified my bracket and added a docking light to the base of the bracket that stays out of the way even when then the TM slides forward.
I'll add a few photos in a bit.
