There is no such thing s democratic socialism. You are either a capitalist, go for it society with a forced savings for old age and disability (SS) like the good ole USA or you are a socialist society like Cuba and others with a huge underclass and a tiny elite. Note: Cuba has elections too. Trying to say otherwise is like pretending to be kinda, sorta pregnant.

I am a working man. I built a retirement with no need for SS. However, I will always make claim for money the government has stolen from me.

No, trying to get you to stop pining for your 6.5%. Politicians are not going to stop SS. Get over it and move on. Put some extra time increasing your value so you can earn more money to invest. Stop living paycheck to paycheck.
