Like I said, they must have tested it to death. Toyota doesn't change an A/C control without testing it to destruction.

They're certainly not going to fiddle with production models of their flagship vehicle for the U.S. market without being certain, especially on drivetrains.

I'm not saying they're perfect - I'm a Toyota/Lexus guy through and through, but they make the odd mistake and get recalls, too. But their engineering decisions are always very methodical. They're not betting the ship on a mirage, in other words.

If I were planning on putting a new power plant in a vehicle like that, I'd run a thousand of them 100k miles before pulling the trigger

I mean they all do this for the most part. I'm not saying Toyota and Honda don't do it better. But how many guys are simply going to take their word?

I just think they'd be crazy to straight drop the 5.7 when the 4.6 sucks and add something new. Phase something in and the 5.7 out at least.
