Ok. After reading that about why the missed third strike is a live ball I understand the origins of the rule.
It also makes me want it changed so much more than I ever did. It truly is a remnant of a time of no called strikes, soft tosses for pitches, and red hots for outs. And it was implemented for incompetent hitters.
This rule actually needs to be tossed out
