Not me, but a friend was cycling and a big buck just about killed him. My friend broke his collarbone, arm and leg. Never rode again.
I've been to quite a few motorcycle rallies and most of them are held in the mountains, either the Ozarks, Smokies or Rockies. I don't know if I can recall even one of the 4-5 day period of all those events that someone didn't either hit a deer or have a very close call.
My post above happened at a rally in N. Georgia in the mountains around Suches and Helen. Lots of twisty two lane roads up that way.

My family has hit a deer probably 5 times.
Most dangerous was when I was a kid and we were driving up to our lakehouse around thanksgiving at night. Look to right at lights on a barn, look back and big deer is standing middle of the lane. Because it was snowy dad didn't even touch the brakes. Just pummeled it head on. We weren't wearing seatbelts of course (it was the 80s) and mom spilled Southern Comfort on the dash, which they had been passing back and forth.
Passing guy in a station wagon asked if he could take the deer.
Also clipped a fawn when towing a trailer, dad and his buddy hit one with buddies truck (the rack is on the wall at our place up north), and a few other similar incidents to those...all on our way to or from the Northwoods.
Another time saw a deer running through a clearing, took one step up onto the road and jumped clear over a pickup truck with a cap on it that was just ahead of us. Pretty damn impressive athleticism.
