He's been damn good all season. Both songs tonight were nods to his Louisiana roots, but he also sang a Hurricane by Band of Heathens earlier this season...and did it better than them honestly.

When they asked him last week what he was looking forward to about the Hometown Visit if he made it through, ole baw said getting on the river.

Know how I know you haven't watched Idol this season? Because he's been dressing like an "Elvis wanna-be" for weeks...long before he went to the Governor's mansion.

They make him do all that. The judges commented on his shoes tonight and he even said he’d rather have his rubber boots on up there. American Idol thinks they know what will make them marketable, but with him I think theyve taken a bit too far.

No they don't. He came out with that look during his Top 40 performance. AI wasn't doing shite with their attires then. They even showed him and his mom going to pick the suit out.
They might be hooking him up now, but he started it. He chose to go that route to stand out.
