As a kid I couldn’t wait until the news were over to watch the openings of SNL. Darryl Hammond and Will Ferrell played great presidents on SNL and they were always funny unlike now. Actually they haven’t been funny since the early 2000s. I thought y’all would enjoy some of these.

That was when we were able to laugh at each other's differences.

Can't do that now.

It's gone from political humor to political propaganda.

The goal is no longer purely laughs. The goal is to promote one political party and tear down the other.

Best one was when Clinton was jogging and stopped in McDonald’s (which he really did once)

Alec Baldwin is such an unfortunately perfect person to do Trump. The hate is strong in that guy. I do wonder how prevalent their Trump ridicule would be without Baldwin, and who else would so condescendingly play POTUS.

Norm was great. No fricks given which is why he was fired. He and Howard Stern were pretty much alone on people in the media that would shite on OJ following his acquittal, but one of my favorite Norm jokes would be this:

quote:

In a sworn deposition this week, O.J. Simpson claimed that he never beat, choked, or hit his ex-wife with a closed or open fist. Luckily for O.J., lawyers forgot to ask if he had ever cut her head off.

Pretty much every President got sent up for their gaffes and mistakes. Until Obama.

The only humor with him seemed to be the “it’s funny that he’s such a smart and handsome nerd” stuff. Like when you are asked for a weakness in an interview and you say something like not knowing when to take time off.

I remember some of the Dan Quayle skits being particularly brutal/hilarious.

I enjoyed Dan Aykroyd doing a buck-toothed "Jimmah" Carter and thought Phil Hartman as Ronald Reagan was hilarious. I guess Hartman also did Clinton.

Dana Carvey as GHW Bush got old fast.
