You would view it differently if it happened elsewhere because you wouldn’t know all the details. Hell, I viewed it differently before it became a clown show.
I think you also have to take into account that he bought a house in Los Angeles and signed with Rich Paul before last season even started. Everyone speculated that he was preparing an exit to LA. You would have to be naïve to think that wasn’t exactly his plan. Months after sweeping Portland he’s making plans to move to a winner... the Lakers. He checked out. Way out. I don’t think he can come back from that. Even if he decided to try.
