Calvin Phillips was found shot to death inside his home in November 2015. His wife, Pamela, and their neighbor, Dansereau, were found dead in a nearby cornfield inside a burned-up car.

Officials said Martin left Christian County following the murders and was living in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the time of the indictment.

The victims' family members released the following statement:

"Nov. 18, 2015, Cal Phillips, Pam Phillips and Ed Dansereau were brutally extinguished—beyond recognition from family. Every day, we are haunted by what was done to them and haunted further that someone was still free to do as they wish, beyond the civility of mankind or laws of our nation. We are overwhelmed with this positive step towards resolution for people we love dearly; Cal and Pam Phillips and Ed Dansereau, and the hundreds of friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and others deeply affected by their brutal end. We look forward to justice in court, and we look forward to a verdict to bring an end to this terror, and a fresh start at healing."

Plot twist

Regardless of the circumstances in the second link, it blows my mind someone could do this and continue to fly people around for 3 years and some change. First article makes it initially sound like he flies for AA, but he's a pilot for an AA subsidiary. I have a couple of friends at the regional he flew for that say he's a former Army helo pilot. I'm guessing he spent some time at Ft. Campbell base on that info and the location(speculation only).

Wow. It just goes to show that you can never truly tell about people.

Not as German as your reply. Searched and found nothing. Why don't you post a link to the original thread? You could have come up with something a little more original. Next time try something like "Did he fly for Lufthansa?"

Sounds like I didn't get any information in the article that ties him to the murder of those three. I'd like to see the state's case up to this point to warrant an indictment.

His ex-bigamist wife sure sounds like the catch.

I still don’t understand what his motive was. Can someone spell it out for me.

If anyone had motive it was his ex wife it seems.

Once her third lover Phillips decided that not lying about the child abuse would be wise she saw he was a liability moving forward.

She obviously had these two husbands for that cash flow. Since Martin was gone at lengthy times due to his job she had it all.

She said she would make him pay, and I have zero reason not to believe Martin.

But all that could change if the state would just show what they have that ties him to the murder indictment, and also the death penalty.

Did he kill them because he was jealous Phillips was bringing the wood while he was away? If so why did he kill his wife and some guy that hasn't been tied in at all?

Weird.

He claims his ex was banging the guy who also happened to be his “star defense witness” in a court martial he was facing. The witness also happens to be one of the murder victims, along with the wife of the witness and another person of unnamed relation. I don’t know why he’d kill someone that was going to bat for him in a court martial other than the alleged infidelity.

ETA: There is a lot more to this story than what’s in the news. I think 187 is on to something with the ex.

The ex had two of them killed, and one happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time
