If that's how the numbers play out, then sure it's a win. But from the research I've seen (I posted a link earlier), the numbers don't play out that way. Turns out it's a close call, incident-wise, injury-wise, and dollar-wise, whether a red light cam at a particular intersection is actually beneficial to public safety. The only sure thing is someone is making money on it.

I will give you this: a blanket application for the cameras is misguided. yes.

BUT, for certain intersections, they can save lives.
