Around 2010/2011 4 or 5 of the 7 Blue Angeles pilots started in the enlisted ranks. The Navy has always had numerous programs to enable select enlisted personal a chance to earn a college degree, and be commissioned as a officer. Currently it is called "The Seaman to Admiral Program 21", there are even pathways that will allow you to attend the Naval Academy.
