I’m all for people living where they would like. What bugs me is when other Louisiana natives give me grief for leaving. They have trouble comprehending that someone who was also born and raised in the state doesn’t see it as the “utopia” they do. Aside from the multiple problems, I’m not part of the good ole boy network (let’s face it, that runs everything in LA in one form or another) so why would I stay?

Call me crazy but I actually enjoy living in a place with no state income tax, infrastructure projects actually see completion and it’s safe enough for me to leave my doors unlocked.

That's easy for you to say. There are Circle K's all over the place. Most of us don't have that option.

Agreed, and i left La myself, hopefully to never go back.

But i can’t imagine anyplace i’d ever live in which i wouldnt lock my doors.. maybe a cabin in Montana or something? Unless you mean just leaving your door unlocked briefly, while running outside or something.. i mean, crazy things happen everywhere, even out in the country.
