call somebody out. get it checked. no dont install a mini split. They are more expensive than a regular unit in a lot of cases. Especially if you already have duct work ran.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Turn your unit back on and go outside. Ensure that your outside fan is spinning. If it isn't, get a stick and try to spin the blade clockwise mannually. If it starts spinning on its own, could be a bad capacitor, or just fan motor starting to wear out. If it won't spin at all, fan motor is likely seized up. If it will spin manually, but won't continue to run on its own, probably a bad fan motor
If it is already spinning on its own when you go out, wait a few minutes and see if the AC lines start to freeze up outside.
If the lines are freezing, check at your furnace and make sure that the filter is new. Also, make sure the blower on the furnace is working. If neither of those are the problem, you will have to get an ac person out to leak check for freon leaking. You could have a condenser going bad, or a leak, or many other problems, but almost all of them will require a professional.
