Last night, Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney tweeted that his company would end its controversial exclusivity agreements if Steam raised its revenue cut for developers. It’s a strong statement, even if there are reasons to be skeptical of Sweeney’s position.
“If Steam committed to a permanent 88% revenue share for all developers and publishers without major strings attached,” Sweeney wrote, “Epic would hastily organize a retreat from exclusives (while honoring our partner commitments) and consider putting our own games on Steam.”

Well, duh. Their whole strategy is to dramatically undercut Steam to try to lure developers over to their platform instead.
It's pretty hilarious for Epic to pretend they are doing these exclusive deals out of some altruistic mission for game developers to get a bigger cut though.
They are trying to grow their brand and store the best way they think they can. Undercutting the competition's price to grow market share isn't exactly some new strategy they thought up themselves.

Seems like it's good for the industry to do a knuckle check. Good for them.

Oh so now they are just doing business like normal and not some evil entity?
I'm so glad at least some of y'all can see past all the tin foil.

This Epic nonsense has really brought out the dumbasses.

I'm mainly trolling with this thread but you're absolutely correct.
Many believe epic is out to get them but they are just acting like a normal business.
They sure don't like to complain that Apple won't release the API for iMessage for all platforms to use.

You keep on being a sackless consumer that will deep throat anything corporations tell you is cool. Completely removing headphone jacks is just being innovative, right?

People that only want steam hate freedom of choice and options. They just want one choice. We need more gaming platforms for true capitalist freedoms. Not these steam communists who want their choice to be the only choice.

I'm assuming you're mindless when it comes to things like this but here it goes.
Android loses a bunch of consumers to Apple for the sole reason of iMessage. They don't want to deal with the hassle that Android users go through. As a Android user myself it's frustrating to be in a group message or get any multimedia from an iPhone user. If Apple were to give the API of iMessage, then Android users wouldn't need to deal with it. So yes, you should care.
Removing the headphone jack is something that will need to be done at some point. I don't like it but it is what it is if you want smaller phones and larger screens.

That's short sighted if you deal with anybody that has an iPhone.

Whenever Epic builds up enough of a client base they're going to start taking more from the devs too
