Eh, this is a couple years old, and may not be the most accurate way of doing things. But this article from a conservative site illustrates the problem:

Now there is something stupid about that report.

"Each year the Bureau of Justice Statistics, a division of the Department of Justice, sends out a survey to a massive number of American citizens. They ask if the person has been a victim of a crime. This is called the National Victimization Crime Survey [NVCS]. It is considered the best crime statistics in the United States. Based on the sample size, the FBI estimates the total number of Americans who were victims of different types of crimes."

Why "the Bureau of Justice Statistics, a division of the Department of Justice," can't just do a database search to find out these kinds of things, instead sending out a survey is beyond me.

But you can't put lipstick on that pig. Here is an article that tries to do that:

In which we learn that prison guards are overwhelmingly white or something, and must be raping the hell out of black women in prison.

But there has to be at least one somewhere? Right?

My guess is since this was a survey, black women just didn't do the survey.
