Fire Cube not working with new AVR

I just upgraded my AVR to a Yamaha RX-A3080. My new AVR will not recognize my Fire Cube now. When I change the to fire Cube input, the AVR shows “Fire Tv” on its display but nothing comes up on the tv except a flicker of the normal fire tv home screen for a split second. The fire tv works fine with my old AVR and works if I connect it directly to the TV. My cable box and Blu-ray player work fine with the new AVR. What gives? For some reason my fire Cube and AVR cannot get along

Have you tried changing the AVR output setting from auto to 4k or from 4k to auto?
And then the same with the Firetv Cube (plug directly into the tv for this).
Dumb question, but is the tv 4k? You may need to scale back both the AVR and firetv cube settings to 1080p if not (and all on auto and not working)
Sometimes that can be finicky.
Sometimes swapping the HDMI cable works.
I'd start there.
ETA: I have a handful of directional HDMI cables that came with an AVR from A4L. I don't usually buy 'premium' ones, so the last time I moved, I forgot that they were labeled 'source' and 'display' and do not work in reverse order. That may be another thing to check that is fairly easy to screw up if you mix and match cables like I do.

I tried a couple HDMI cables and that wasn’t it.
The tv is 4K.
I’ll see if I can find the AVR settings
