According to a player I spoke with at lunch last week, (my son went to high school with him), it’s an effort problem. Asked why has no approach at the plate changed and he told me they just didn’t care. Said that he has tried helping but they rather player Fort night(sp?) in the dugout and no one is putting in extra work
To me, it’s pretty obvious. Garza hasn’t changed a single thing. Broussard/Hughes are getting worse. Bianco looks like SEC stage is too big for him. Duplantis is even struggling at the plate this year compared to years in the past
The culture needs to change at LSU soon or its going to be a long few years ahead until we get some fire back into the players/program

If true, the culture absolutely needs to change, that starts with leadership on the baseball team, and LSU coaches recruiting such players, just as LSU football did with White. So, who are these leaders PM recruited and why haven’t they fixed this?

Very bizarre mindset which I don’t think I’ve ever heard coming from a successful coach at any level. PM is an absolute master at creating a weak non-conference schedule and winning 45 games so he can retain his job and it’s been that way for years.
20+ losses 4 years in a row. Skip did that 3 times in 17 years. We need to raise expectations
Comparing to football is stupid.
Midweek losses are like saying LSU basketball had a bad season because they lost those early games.
20-10 would win the SEC in most years, so that is the benchmark we set. It is still attainable mathematically, but they certainly aren't trending in that direction.
Everything they want is still in front of them. They just have to play up to their expectations. It's on everyone. Coaches and players.

PM ‘s definitely trying to push their buttons, trying to get his team playing harder. We’ll see this weekend with Fla. Hess, Duplantis, somebody among LSU’s leaders needs to step up and push this team.

The thing that pisses me off is the same issues keep coming up.
Javi had to go, a great hire was made. So what happens when that great hire moves on, he does the exact same thing as before, it's no different than when Javi was here.
Johnny Wholestaff has been a problem for years now. I understand the SEC weekend is the important piece in all of this but for regionals (loser bracket) or Omaha you need to develop a 4th starter and there is no reason they couldn't have thrown some of those pitchers more than they did last night.
Same old thing!

You said that you don’t think he does a poor job of preparing the kids.
All I was doing was pointing out that he himself has admitted that sometimes, he does do a poor job of it. Don’t try to turn it around now by saying “well, all good coaches do that, herp derp”.
You know, it IS ok to admit that CPM isn’t perfect, right?

In the MLB, that would be 108 wins a season.
I can see where winning 108 games in an MLB season would absolutely be a reason to fire a coach. Makes total sense. What a failure!!!!!!

Well I have to disagree with you. I know for a fact there are a handful of guys that don’t miss a day going to the field to hit or do drills. Their approach at the plate relies on what the coaches tell them to do. Be aggressive and try to hit the ball on the ground. I find it interesting that most of our players tear it up over the summer all over the country, and then look lost when they start playing in February. Garza and Broussard have both been improving over the past few weeks, so not sure where you’re coming up with the idea they’re getting worse.
