I love the anti-LSU, pro-Pawl crowd telling us LSU isn’t the top program in the country. It’s by far the worst and most disgraceful excuse they love to promote and it’s irrefutable proof of fans holding a coach above a program.

what’s interesting is how this idea of people liking a coach more than a program was never really discussed on here until O was hired and O fans and people that think everything is like football came around.

I would argue LSU and Texas are the top 2 programs neither have won a CWS in a decade. The problem is people then think other programs can’t become good. The irony of that mentality is if it was true then LSU would never have been good because USC was the top program before that. Like it or not it’s more competitive now, programs like Ole Miss and State (who was better than LSU before the 90s) can be equals.

As for the multiple titles Vanderbilt only won 1 and BTW did not win with their best team that went 26-3 in SEC but lost in the Supers. Oregon St won 2 in a row and then last year. But lost with a team that had 4 losses all year. So Car wan 2 in a row but that coach retired

Just because somebody supports the coach doesn’t mean they are against the school. It’s not a binary argument.

I think CPM has done a great job at LSU. He has been one of the most consistent coaches in the country during his tenure here and it has been during a period where college baseball has been at its most competitive.

The era skip coached in is barely even the same sport as what college baseball is today. Trying to compare the two is a foolish endeavor.

With all that said this team has been snake bit from the beginning with injuries and is only a game out of first at the halfway mark. That’s after playing the toughest part of the schedule already. Are there things to improve? Absolutely. That doesn’t mean LSU should just fire its coach
