I do quite well by sheer luck. The company I work for was bought out 8 years ago by a company that has let us stay in Shreveport/Bossier. All of actual work is for assets that are based in Texas/other states.

My son has six more years of middle/high school. I will advise him to leave the state after college graduation (if he goes in state), and I'll be leaving for Texas after he's done with high school/college.

Obviously, I understand. Hate to say it, but Louisianans have made a lot of bad choices at the ballot box over the DECADES, and a lot of those scoundrels only had their own personal and financial gain as their primary goals. As a result, the whole damn state has UNDERACHIEVED like crazy.

It's a shame, too. Good people. Good state. But even though we tend to have a passion for politics, we've elected far too many crooks and scoundrels. It saddens me.
