I do not disagree, but there are a number of actions that could be taken to ensure long-term economic health that would also result in short-term disaster.
There is absolutely no way to ensure stability and growth over a number of decades without taking a hit, one way or another. Our cake is either for consumption, or for viewing.

That might be possible, and it's only bc the swamp has taken this country so far away from common sense that some changes to straighten out the mess could hurt for quite a while before it gets better.
