I think HOAs can do some good but certainly are capable of being a nuisance. I’m on the board of our HOA and am looking to reinvigorate it. We currently don’t do much besides fight neighborhood related things at metro council.
Our dues are only $25 a year. I would like to put together some plans to buy/subsidize live oaks in people yards, build sidewalks etc or help sponsor a brec Park. Our neighborhood is off highland and older.

Yeah...see that's USEFUL stuff there. Our HOA board turned their nose up at me when I requested they send someone to a HOA meeting of ALL HOAs where I live. Our city council woman is a socialist. She follows Bernie Sanders religiously. That's the only group she'll listen to.
