1) Even with the unwanted pregnancies, we are still below replacement level rates for our population. Thats not good. Not nearly as bad as China and Europe in general, but still.
2) There are currently 6 million job openings in this country. 6 MILLION. and a lot of them are, despite muh trade job memes, actually in the trades. they pay very well. the conditions are not ideal. This will only get worse...
3) the muh college to succeed meme. Those open jobs would have been filled by kids who learned trades or learned they had a liking to the trades in high school or sooner. Until the stigma of needing college to succeed is eradicated those jobs will never get filled to their true potential
4) Trump is actually trying to exacerbate the unfilled job problem by halting the enrichment of Europe and China at the expense of our middle class. If you know what a J curve is in econ then you know what he is proposing is quite possibly the most drastic J curve of all time. But if it works, my God. Itll make the roaring 20's or the dot com boom of the 90's look like the 1% growth of the Obama years by comparison.
5) Are we actually going to fix the problem? Probably not. Its not come conspiracy either. The whole system is so dependent on easy debt (College tuition, welfare, subsidies of all forms) and so many people need things to stay this way, ( the large corp owners need cheap chinese and mexican labor to make wall st happy and they in turn keep feeding politicians to make sure it stays that way) that unless some unforeseen black swan comes to fix this problem for us (large volcano, India-Paksitan nuke showdown, China bombing taiwan, etc) it will stay this way for some time to come.

Thank you! Been saying this for years. This "everybody needs to get a college degree" mantra is just a money grab by the college industries and student loan programs. We will always need millwrights, pipefitters, welders, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.
