It don't always work that way for instance I had a very high paying job when my three kids were born but because of shady dealings by my employer and technology growth the whole industry went south.
It took a few years to obtain another career in a different industry altogether.

Too many people working the in Home Depot lumber yard think it's perfectly fine to bring children into the world and then just hope for the best (and gov assistance).
