In a legal sense, no, you're not a murderer.

We can all believe what we want to believe, but when you throw words around like "traitor" you're being very loose with facts.

Doesn’t change the fact that you’re still a murderer and you would know it.

But I’m not. He, by the dictionary definition, betrayed the country he once swore he would protect. He, according to the definition of treason listed in the Constitution, took up arms and is thus a traitor. In the definition there’s not an exceptions part. The primary reason he didn’t get convicted is to heal relations. Those are the facts. Hiding behind the legal term isn’t going to change what he is.

He knew what he was doing was going against the country he once served. That’s why he was conflicted.

The problem is people like you and most of the those in this thread automatically assume traitor means bad guys. When that’s not what’s being said. This is also applies to the people on the other side of the argument (which a lot of people) that view all confederates as evil people which is extremely ignorant.
