If it sucks, can someone recommend a good one? I need to be ok for dogs since my dog is outside a lot.

Any preemergent will work just need to make sure you put it down prior to seed germination. We always use Barricade or the generic version.

It's safe for dogs, btw. Put it down now and again 2 months later for crabgrass prevention.

I used Scott's Halts's for the first time this Fall, and it did great for the winter weeds. I reapplied in Feb, for the Spring weeds, and it didn't seem to do shite. I have more chickweed and poa than I ever have. Whether or not it will prevent crabgrass, I will have to wait and see, it's about another month or two until I will know.

I used a Scott's Spreader so I didn't have to calculate. Just pour it in, turn it to the setting it says on the bag.

I really don't give a shite about chickweed and poa in the winter, but when the bermuda greens up and there's crabgrass, after I used this product, I will be pissed and will write an angry letter to them.
