I knew a guy a long time ago who sold weed in a small town. He would not discuss it on his home phone - this was before cell phones. You had to go by his house and catch him there or page him to call you back.
If someone showed up and seemed nervous he would not do business with them. He thought they may have been caught and were going to buy from him to set him up. He turned quite a few people away - even if they came over and were already messed up and he thought they may get pulled over it was no deal.
AND this guy was not the sharpest person I ever met. Quite the opposite actually. But he had a serious aversion to going to jail and it served him well.
