And the progression of the the team while Waters was at point is an interesting topic. I as a fan felt we looked to be hitting a more comfortable stride with Smart as a team . No issue with Waters but it’s true.

We lose 10 games and by 40 tonight without Waters. He's our best player by far. You are dumb.

He didn’t have a single point tonight and was bad the whole tourney. Stfu smart will be a good player in the future but right now waters runs this team way better and it’s not even close

Smart and Waters both played a ton????

You’re saying we are better WITHOUT Waters?

Did you watch the game tonight?

Did Smart have a good game after all this mess started?
I think it really affected him, and consequently the team.

U must be out of your frickin tree boy. We beat people and it made more sense with the offense and Smart. As much as I like Waters that fricker makes me nervous running around and eventually hitting a shot or turning it over..

My vote Smart is better at point

Smart is a great player, but he’s a scorer. He doesn’t create offense for others. I don’t think people understand just how much Waters did for this team. He was largely responsible for CREATING the offense. LSU didnt really have an offensive “scheme”. It was largely ball screens and asking Water to make the best reads.

He was the best PG since Chris Jackson and maybe the best all around guard since Jackson as well. Smart will be good, but we are REALLY going to miss Tremont

Waters is a great player. Our teams stand s around to watch him quite a bit. Going to need a new point guard and a couple of bigs

Waters is only reason we we're somewhat close.

You really think Smart goes pro or transfer this will be his team to run next year if Waters is gone. I think Smart is great player but a true freshman. The progress Smart makes from this year to next will be great just like Waters from his first year to second

I'm been saying that since the stretch that Waters was out sick. Despite the wins this team was undisciplined the whole year except the games that Waters was out. The way this team looked during that short stretch they could have beat anybody.

btw, for those of you that want to give me a down arrow for my comments because you think Waters is such a great player, just remember Pete Maravich was a great player also. Great players don't win championships, great teams do!!
