I moved to the DFW area last year and I really miss fishing for reds, specs, and flounder.

If you want lots of bites, hire a guide to take you fishing for sandbass later this Spring or early Summer. You will catch doubles on almost every cast and the fish are good to eat. I don’t know what part of DFW you live in but if Lavon is close to you, I used Carey Thorn and had a blast. Carey took his boat down to Houston to help with the flooding a couple of years ago and is a stand-up guy.

It’s crazy to be out on a lake in a kayak and have a huge school of sandbass tearing up the water all around you feasting on shad.

Lavon is close

Lavon is about 10 miles from my house, I fish it quite often.

There's some large bass in that lake and the crappie are on fire right now
