Wouldn't consider over stuffed. Lots of bread.

The large shrimp po’boy is definitely deliciously overstuffed at Capital city Crawfish on government street. The small is not nearly as well-stuffed

ETA: Walk-On’s makes a shockingly good shrimp po’boy

A bunch of the grocery stores have solid poboys. I'm a fan of Roberts.

Tod’s in Lutcher. May be out of your way, but jam up.

The first week Shrimp Basket opened in BR, I got one and I was impressed...over 4 dozen easy
I have gotten 3 since then, all had maybe a dozen and a half
So definitely not Shrimp Basket

+1

Tried them last week and wasn’t thrilled with the freshness of the bread or the amount of shrimp.

Dont mean to turn this into a Jed’s thread, but the one time I went the bread was stale. Very hard to bite through, which sends the filling all over the place, very annoying.

It was a late lunch, 1pm, so I thought maybe they had resorted to some old bread. Reported it to some friends, and one of them went a few days later - same experience.

Capital city Crawfish on government

Maybe I got a small but I went there a few weeks ago for lunch and they don't even use Leidenheimer's bread. It was regular soft French bread. The poboy was decent but nothing I'd go out of my way for to eat again.
