Just looked into these. The bottom part is molded plastic? Looks that way in the pics, but not positive.

Might buy a pair and give them a shot to compare against my usuals.

had no idea there were higher end insert options

Got these from two different podiatrists over the years.

$400
Aggravating, half shoe.
Small company
Not my cup of tea.

$800
Full shoe
"Ped align". My vote A1

Neither is soft. Solid arch support.

Get real shoe inserts and not these things. Your shoe inserts shouldn't be 'squishy' or 'pillowy.'

You need support, something with structure. The cushion should gives you support so your feet aren't moving in the shoe as well.

Fleet Feet in Baton Rouge was great for finding the right inserts, had a lot of different ones to try on. I'm sure any running store near you has the same option. For me, Powerstep Pinnacle were the solution, took about 4 different tries to get the perfect model.

Is this an ad?

I’ve had these in a pair of work boots, and really like them. However, I have high arches and these have great arch support. Someone with normal arches might find them uncomfortable.

I really think those dr scholls machines are smart. A lot of people dont necessarily know what their foot problems are, just that they have problems so that machine solves that. Then the price is very reasonable considering they just told you exactly what to buy to help your issue. Like the guys above have said, insoles can be crazy expensive.
