Get out of here with logic and an explanation. Let everyone get half of the story and rage out.

shite 3ft fence won't even keep most dogs in or out.
I had a lab that could jump a 6 ft one. 3 feet is ridiculous.

dude down the street has 6ft all around except on one side in the front where it's 3ft. his yellow lab jumps the fence without even trying.

Baton Rouge law is:
Fences or walls greater than four feet in height may not be located within any front or corner side yard unless
the fence or wall is less than 30 percent solid, providing a minimum of 70 percent transparency

I had a neighbor who was a professional a-hole. Went out of his way to be a dick to me. Called the cops on me for bogus shite and then started claiming my yard was his property. I eventually put up a 10' fence on my property between me and him.

On the other side of the fence boards? A burned image of Donald Trump giving him the finger.

Yes, I'm petty and yes, he got more angry and called the cops on me for the image. The cops told him they couldn't do anything to me for it since it was my property and there was no law against flipping the bird to someone.

He eventually lost his job, his wife left him, and he moved. The new neighbor and I are buddies and he gets a kick out of the image. I do plan on replacing the boards that make up the obscene finger now, though.

in baton rouge?

surprised they didnt make you cut off the top of the fence because the maximum height is 8 feet supposedly

quote:

Fences and walls may be as much as eight feet in height if located outside of any required front yard or corner
side yard and set back at least five feet from any sidewalk or 15 feet from the edge of the street, whichever is
more, and outside of any required sight triangle.

well your fence laws are the same as the OP then

7. The maximum height of a fence or wall in the front yard shall be three feet
8. The maximum height of a fence or wall along rear or side yards shall be six
feet.
9. Fences and walls shall be constructed of wood, wrought iron, brick, stone or
other high-quality material. Chain-link fencing is prohibited.

It'll still keep a dog in. Well, unless the dog is really small.

it's mostly due to visibility issues for people driving/walking. imagine coming to a corner and someone having a fence that you cant see over extending to the edge of their property

I understand that if it is by a intersection. Makes sense though.
