There's always blind hope, but I think we've missed the window on this.
First, we had the administration bungle this so badly in the first place, and I think someone wanted to show who's boss. I don't necessarily think that was Alleva (or Wade), but someone else in admin.
Wade dug in his heels and basically said fire me and pay my buyout, but I won't talk about potential testimony. I'm really not sure how it would play out, but I suspect Wade has a case, or he'd likely already be fired at this point.
So we had a small period where people could all calm down, get together, and agree to put this off until after the trial plays out.
Maybe there was no attempt to do so and that was the final straw, but all of a sudden big booster money said enough of this shite, the administration needs to be cleaned out from the top down.
And my guess is, once THAT bomb dropped, the admin's priorities changed. Resolving the Wade issue has likely become secondary to last-ditch damage control across the board, and also likely resume updating and sending. Because I don't think Wade returning saves anyone at this point, things are too mismanaged.
