Cool. I want to install the caseta in high traffic areas (living/kitchen, foyer, etc.), however I'm being told that I should go with RA2 Select and the caseta isn't a great option. I don't know if it's worth double the price to move towards the RA2 Select. Thoughts?

I'm a caseta user.
I would only consider upgrading if:
1) I wanted motorized shades (I have no desire for them)
2) I wanted more than 50 switches/pico remotes- I may eventually butt up against 50, but it's probably better for me to have a limit. I'm bad at throwing money at unnecessary stuff that I think is cool
3) you may have to check me here, but the RA2 I think is compatible with some different switches that caseta is not which will allow for motion sensors on the switch (Maestro RF line, I think). Do not quote me, but check. If you want smart control, dimmers, scheduling, and their color is adequate, you otherwise gain very little with the upgrade. Basically, if you have to ask, you probably don't need it. Because if the caseta does it, the RA2 doesn't do the same thing any better (except for integrated motion sensors which I may be wrong about which sound like you aren't interested in)
Side note, let's just say one thing you were excited about was adding light and fan control to your Logitech Harmony remote
Light control works great
Fan control is not supported.
May I ask who is selling you on the upgrade?
If it's the person selling you the product, I'm not seeing a justification other than the lining of their pockets from your description, but that doesn't mean that we aren't missing something in the details that would make the upgraded line fit you better.
