re: I might like X-Men better than the Avengers

I was not the biggest fan of Avengers 1. It just doesn't have a lot of plot beyond good guys team up to take down bad guy. Way too many tone deaf quipy one liners. I am glad Joss Whedon was replaced by the Russos.
Almost because of its simplicity though, it's a highly re-watchable film that doesn't depend on previous films to understand or really spend much of any time setting up events that occur in future films.
That said, I probably enjoyed watching The Amazing Spiderman in theaters more than Avengers 1. I know that's really weird.
Part of this though is why I hate Marvel Studios bringing virtually all their properties under their umbrella. The X-Men franchise was very flawed, but it had a totally different tone than Marvel Studios. The same can be said with The Amazing Spiderman films.
In this age of all the superheroes existing in one universe, I also kind of appreciate the simplicity of having one hero or team of heroes being the centerpoint of the world.

This is often true, and the incongruence of the X-Men and the Avengers in the comics is pretty obvious. (Why do non-altered humans care so much about mutants when all sorts of strange things are running around.)
However, I feel like Feige is trying to "reconstruct" the Marvel universe in a different medium, and while i think a straight adaptation of the comics tot he screen with the Avengers and X- Men won't work, I have a feeling he's going to either 1) Put the X-Men in a different Universe and start the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse or 2) Find a clever way to incorporate it all in a logical sense.
Look what he did with the Infinity Stones and all of the stories leading up to Endgame. He took pieces of the Ultimate Verse, 616, etc. from different time periods (Cap 1 being almost a straight Kirby Cap film, WS being straight Brubaker) and tied it all together. That's his real gift.
