The EC doesn't "tip the scale in favor of less people". All it does is provide a check of power against the large population centers that can use their numbers to cancel out the votes of people from a broad and different cultural/societal norm than those in the densely populated areas.
It's like people in NYC telling people in Albany that no one needs a car because public transportation is easily available where they live then they vote to ban personal vehicles. Sorry, the majority won.

It overvalued votes in certain states for sure.
Why should a Wyoming matter more than a voter in New York, or Louisiana or Texas.
But their Elector:Voter ratio is significantly great than any other states.
And no these elections aren’t settled by Wyoming, but we aren’t representing the people
Of the country.
