I used to think so but I'm but I'm not even sure anymore. If he got great players illegally maybe he's just got a great team that an above average coach could have success with.
Johnny Jones had Ben Simmons and couldn't even make the tournament.
Jarrel Martin, Jordan Mickey, Johnny O'Bryan, seems like we've had at least a few guys get drafted during the lean years.
Hell, even Dale Brown couldn't really coach offense as good as Wade does.

The burden of proof isn't on me to prove he shouldn't be fired, why don't you tell me why he should?
Either Wade was dirty as an incoming hire and Alleva was negligent in the hire and remained negligently clueless during Wade's tenure, or Alleva is repeating the exact mistake he made at Duke sullying innocent folks and a successful program with catastrophic consequences.
As an aside, even if 100% guilty at this stage a competent AD would not preemptively act this way given the NCAA's history. You gain absolutely nothing! Has SeanMiller been suspended? Coach K? RoyWilliams? Anyone else?
No? Why?
Because Alleva is not their AD.
Any of those are reasons to fire the man.

And yet they run one of the most profitable athletic departments in the whole country.
...Kind of makes it look like they're doing their jobs.
Tennessee.
Yep, the program run by Phil Fulmer. And that's without a football team with a pulse for over a decade, and not making money on baseball, and the women's basketball team declining hard.
Because, you see, being in the SEC means you are going to make money hand over fist, even if you don't have a stout group of teams and a bean counter running the show.
Let Alleva go to somewhere like DePaul, if he's such a financial wizard. That's a school that needs to pinch pennies everywhere they can, because all they have is basketball and it's dead now. LSU needs someone who can spread the brand, not balance the checkbook. Not on athletics, at least.

OR...
...maybe...
Alleva did his due diligence in hiring Wade, he didn't turn up anything, Wade looked like a [promising young coach, and he was hired.
But what do you mean by "sullying innocent folks and a successful program with catastrophic consequences"? What has Alleva done?

What way? Word is the university president is the one who made the call to sit Wade down, not the AD.

It's looks like you're getting emotional. The best I can hope for is that through all this, the NCAA has a major change in the way recruits are handled, and LSU gets off with a light punishment and gets to keep Wade.

None of your 'reasoning' is rational, it's based on rumor, innuendo and emotion. Like I said, irrational.

I dont Think you can just ignore 3/3 Basketball hires end terribly, if this ends terribly.
Basically needs a huge Football season to stay afloat.

are you a relative of Alleva or something? You are defending him blindly like only one full of delusion could do

On the contrary, I am one of the few who is completely emotionally detached from the situation. All I'm saying is that he's done his job to this point, no real reason to fire him yet - AND - that I find it absurd that the ONLY person nobody wants to get rid of is the one who was caught cheating.
That just shows the level of emotion that has taken over the board and led to such irrational posts.
Personally, I would be fine if both Wade and Alleva stay and we get passed this with as little pain as possible. After all, LSU hasn't yet suffered any consequences.

You can if you're a football school.
Especially if you're a football school whose baseball program turns a profit.

You don’t even know what wade was doing or not doing
He may have been doing nothing, something within the rules or something outside of the rules.
No one knows

Not really.
Not this badly. Especially if football doesn’t make some real noise in year 3 of his huge risk with O.

So you think we should fire him over Duke Lacrosse?
C'mon, Tigah, make a point and back it up. Personally, I'm surprised you're not a little more circumspect and willing to let it play out a bit more before making judgement calls.

How the hell was Alleva hired in the first place after the Duke Lacrosse fiasco?

Look, I'm not saying the whole thing couldn't fall apart, with Joe getting ridden out on a rail, but it hasn't YET. I wasn't really a big fan of the O hire, but it seems okay, so far. Everyone is so quick to make judgments when all we really have are a couple of phone calls implicating our basketball coach in NCAA violations. Maybe the whole thing will get swept under the rug, and Wade will be reinstated. Nothing has happened so far to preclude that outcome.

The point has been made many times.
No need to repost at length.
When you are less "detached", perhaps read some of the 50-60 threads discussing the thing.
In short, Alleva has a history.
Duke Lacrosse was an administrative atrocity. Alleva jumped the gun immediately, just as he has here. He was horribly wrong to do so. He sullied Duke students and employees in the process. The ultimate result was millions of dollars in lawsuits paid out by the university (rumors hold the confidential settlement at $70million or so), waves of campus protests, destruction of a national championship athletic team its coach and players, and even a precipitous drop of Duke's USNews College Ranking due to a decline in peer evaluations.
A little event like that would be something most folks would learn from.
Yet Alleva continues to act first, think later, then spastically try to cover for his stupidity. We didn't get played by Jimbo. Right? We didn't get played by Herman. Right? Orgeron was the target of our search all along. Right? We didn't get completely owned by the UF AD during the hurricane bullshite. Right? It all went perfectly according to plan according to Joe. Right?
Alleva is an imbecile. In retracing his past catastrophic mistakes, he's made it clear he is a negligent imbecile.
He should have been fired this weekend. He should be fired now.
