Arguably, the Syrian Civil War and the Iraqi Civil War, together, could constitute a world war. Lots of world powers involved, millions of people displaced and a new world order created as a result, that world order being the US less interested in retaining leadership of the liberal world order.

It will start in the Middle East, with Iran becoming the dominant power in the region. They'll join forces with the Bear of the North (Russia) and the eastern power China and be allied against the "Israelitish" nations, namely, Israel, the U.S., and the UK.
I remember all this from a sermon-prophecy by the late Herbert W. Armstrong of the Worldwide Church of God, back in 1970!
