Is guilty. I want Alleva gone for a list of shite. I know you’ll ride in here and split hairs for your pal but this is on him. He’s known about it for months and done nothing. Stop trying to scapegoat Wade. It’s on Joe’s watch. The guy hasn’t maned up on any big issue.
He’s made my alma mater look bad over and over. I also have history on my side as he fricked over Dukes lacrosse team in similar fashion. He pissed down his leg on the football coaching hire as well as the Hurricane issue with UF. Yep Wade made the offer but with who’s money? Not to mention we have no clue what can be proven. You act like he sat back shocked we were suddenly relevant. As if he had no idea we were now willing to be in the game like the other successful basketball schools. JOE MUST GO

I agree with much that you posted. However, I don’t see how Alleva had much of a choice once Wade refused to meet. I think Wade made a mistake by not meeting. He should have attended with his attorney, answered what the attorney approved, and said, “I don’t know.” To the questions the attorney didn’t like.

In short, he should have treated it like a deposition. I think that might have given Alleva cover to say, “I discussed this with Wade, and I did not learn of any rules being broken.”

I also agree that Alleva should never have been hired because of his shameful behaviour in the Duke Lacrosse affair.

Dudes been made of Teflon. I won’t believe it til I see it. We know LSU cares more about public perception than anything though. So maybe so

All of which opens up Alleva/F(uc)King to subpoena as well.

Alleva is done. An AD doesn't survive this much repeated controversy.

Alleva was hired to monetize LSU sports.

He has done that and made the University money. Stop thinking like a fan and think like a business.

Agree. That is exactly how it should have gone down. Then, if they suspended him after that, you might have a case to be pissed.

Lol at this whole fricking meeting. That was just cover for the administration. Wade was suspended because Joe loves bowing to media pressure. He has no idea how to play the PR game. He suspended Wade over a fricking hitpiece Yahoo article and a tweet from some 80 year old announcer and then came up with this bullshite meeting excuse.

1.A fricking twelve year old could make money off of LSU sports.

2.the way you monetize a sport in college to have good teams. You get good teams by getting the best players. Wade was doing exactly what Alleva hired him to do.

SO do I. Doesn't mean he had much of a choice where Wade is concerned. Smart is another matter but against Vandy I figured no big deal.

If he has Wade and Smart back for the start of the SEC tournament, I'll still want him gone but I'll give him credit for how he handle this. Giving a token punishment against an inferior opponent.

Did I mention I'll still want him gone. He always seems to be reactionary and nearly every time proves his reactions are suspect.

That’s fine so let’s ride this train. Wouldn’t you agree it’s at least debatable that he didn’t need to suspend Wade now or before the season ended? I’m basing this off of the date he is scheduled to give testimony.

It definitely is but rumor has it that Joe didn't actually make that call.

Which is even more laughable if you’re defending the guy. It’s amazing to me that Joe would be so scared that he couldn’t get another job that he would let f king punk him like that

bingo.

Joe knew Wade's lawyer would be concerned about the meeting purpose. This gave him an angle to distance himself from Wade. Joe is always about self-preservation. Not even LSU's best interest; just Joe's.

I'm not defending the guy. Overall, he is a joke.

Initially based on what was reported, it seemed he had little choice. Now rumors are coming out that he wanted to let WW continue but was overridden by the compliance department recommendation which F King agreed with. That kind of implies the idea that his refusing to go to a meeting may not have been the driver as was stated in some earlier reports.

I don’t get this logic. Does this mean any time in the last year WW lawyer has not allowed him to go to a meeting with his boss? I think this line of thinking just isn’t logical and I’m all for firing JA.

But why do it now? The article proves nothing and the investigation or whatever will not be anytime soon.

We are aware of the article and will cooperate when the time comes. Is all they had to say.
