seems like the pitching staff is taking the brunt of the criticism (yes, way too many walks!), but this team can't seem to hit very well! losses can be equally blamed on poor, inconsistent hitting, too

Way too many walks? Hess only walked three.

Both of them bear some blame. No plate patience or discipline from the batters and Johnny Wholestaff seems to be so afraid to throw the ball across the plate and possibly give up a hit that he'll give up 5 walks per game. The walks are fricking maddening. Go after batters, throw strikes, and if they make contact, well, that's why there are nine players in the field and not just a pitcher and a catcher.

They had like 7 walks! That’s way to many.
