Lol. Why wouldn’t you play smart? If anything ever comes out definitively the whole season is negated anyways for the games he already played in. If they ruled him ineligible today, we would have to forfeit and would be 0-30.

Well the one guy who could defend him (Wade) is not speaking to anyone, apparently. Whoever makes the call can only go on the media reports at this point.
Since it's Vandy, I'm guessing a cover your bases, abundance of caution move.

Suspending Wade but not suspending Smart makes sense to me if the only reason Wade got suspended is because he refused to talk to the BOS when requested. He's not suspended for any tangible evidence (so no implication of Smart), he's suspended for refusing to discuss the situation with the BOS.
I'm not saying I agree with the strategy, but if those facts are correct, it makes "sense".
