Play with awesome talent
Play in your home city
Play 20+ minutes a game as a freshmen (even though he’s a 3 yr guy)

Wouldn't being able to see every home game of your son's career be a promising offer? Again, he stayed close to home and Mama was taken care of by being able to 1) watch her son play, 2) be able to see him a lot, and 3) be sure that he's being treated right.

That is a huge deal. The offer for a 2-3 year player could just as easily be about playing time as much as anything else given the make up of the team with Smart coming in. It had 2 established guards and at the time Sims being the big guard/small forward.

May there was something nefarious going on, but just having snippets of conversations released does not mean shite.
