The other school of thought was it wasn't harsh enough. Maybe WW3 didn't happen was because after WW2 post war Germany was actually conquered and occupied.

The other school of thought is retarded. WWI Germany wasn’t the fricking Nazis. How could you possibly justify dissolving Germany after WWI when France and Britain were doing the exact fricking things they were? Germany actively tried to destroy the world in the second and committed the biggest genocide in human history to the point of it being counterproductive. And go look at the Nazi tactics on the Eastern Front. And the mass human experimentation.

They just aren’t remotely comparable. Germany deserved to be dissolved after all that bullshite and the Germans themselves knew it. They were just happy the Red Army didn’t rape and kill them all.
