Agreed here.
I’m also not on the Lane train. Maybe last year he could have had s shot, but he just doesn’t measure up against the guys this season.
With guys like Alejandro, Wade, Uche, Jeremiah, and even Demetrius I just don’t think he’s even in the same league.
Idol definitely helped him out by putting him last night because the guys tonight are absolute powerhouses.
Lane has clearly spent the whole year getting prepped for this, which is good on him. But no matter how many suits they dress him up in he just isn’t more than a growler, and Wade is a much better one than he is.

After last nights show, I googled and found the list of the top 14
They definitely didn’t add any suspense with 1 seat left and Alejandro and 3 others left on stage .

Laine had a top 3 performance of the group last night IMO.
Some around here and being a little critical.
I was actually somewhat disappointed in this second group until Alejandro. I am still watching though.
Alejandro is on another level. He is the greatest talent I have ever seen on AI. They truly are blessed to have him.

finally got caught up.
Solid top 14. I can't imagine being onstage with one of your heroes sing THEIR song.
The chick with Chris Isaac has an odd voice but, it actually worked really well with that song.Her dad looks like Dave Grohl
Laine seems like the most polished performer
Why not Wade is really good. Needs to get on that other guy's weight loss program.
The red head who did the Cyndi Lauper song is really good. No idea who the woman is that sang with him but her voice gives me chills it's so good.
Laci is pretty good. although country isn't my thing. She has the look.
Red head harry potter sings good but looks so awkward on stage.
I must be missing something with the whole Alejandro thing. maybe it's the style of music or maybe his performing style. i just don't get it.

I am sort of hypocritical I admit... because while I don't care for Laine... I like Wade... and they both have very similar style sounds to me... ( maybe because I feel sort of Wade and want him to make it/ succeed for his moms sake)
Regarding Alejandro... I'm waiting for the day the entire band jumps in with him and gets loud... so far he's been doing this Jack johnson style of music and it's all very soft spoken but still great at the same time

My only problem with this season is the judges. According to them, every performance is spectacular. They really need a Simon type judge.

Damn dude we said the same thing!
We were posting about past iconic performances on Idol and we’ll remember that one with the best of them.
The woman apparently won the Tony Award for The Color Purple. She should be a star going forward because she is incredible.
Jeremiah as well.
Oftentimes the contestants are sort of upstaged when they do these celebrity duets but Jeremiah held his own and I honestly thought Alejandro was kind of held back by Ben Harper, if you can believe it.
I feel like he could have done some cooler things with that song but instead he followed Harper’s lead and just sat there and reeled off a perfect vocal. I’d been so enamored with his guitar playing that I hadn’t really focused on his vocals as much but man that was pretty flawless imo.
Evelyn (Chris Isaac), Ashley Hess, and Laci Kay are my favorite girls. They all really showed up on the big stage.
The biggest surprise to me was Demetrius. I wasn’t a fan of his in auditions or even Hollywood week, but in Hawaii and now this week he has really made a ton of improvement.
Seeing as how he is an older guy that comes from a really rough background in the gritty streets of Baltimore, I imagine he never really had much training. But after just a couple of months of working with the coaches on Idol he’s grown tremendously.
He will have a tough road because his style will likely be competing for votes against Jeremiah and Uche, both powerhouses, but I’m going to be excited to watch how he continues to improve.
Only one that bothered me making it through was Eddie Island. Dude is just annoying and honestly can’t hold a candle to this group.
I would have preferred Logan make it through.
Other than that, outstanding group of finalists
