So I've complained in some other topics about LSU playing down to their competition and getting into the OT battles way too often against the likes of Mizzou, Arkansas, UF, etc.

So i think it is fair that I post a topic on how awesome they looked and how the kept their foot on the pedal the entire game. They didn't give A&M a glimmer of hope to get back into it.

They came out fast and strong and stayed that way the whole game. That was awesome to watch.

Bigby-Williams was fun to watch. Skylar we just take for granted but that guy is awesome, smart, and makes good decisions. Reid showed a couple of good moves down low. Some fell some didn't but I enjoyed seeing him getting some plays down low.
Great job guys!

I would like to see them get the big boys involved down low early in these games. I think they are best when the down low play gets going.

I’m happy they won but to call it an awesome performance and they played great is a bit of a stretch. I

Great first half. We came out a little slow in the 2nd half and allowed them to cut the lead to single digits. We won convincingly but I'm not sure we dominated.

They really didn’t play all that great the last 24 minutes or so of the game... good defense, but we were up 21 and won by 11. Wasn’t that dominating.

We had a 21 point lead and they had it down to 9. They won the second half.

I don't think anyone is pissed we beat aTm by double digits for a Q2 win.

No one is mad. We are simply saying we didn’t play all that great the second half or last little bit of the first half offensively.

Okay? I guess you see what you want to see. No one is acting pissed.

Yeah, we got a little cocky and overconfident the last five minutes of the firs half and played a little sloppy. This gave A&M a glimmer of hope. If we had staid focused and kept or foot on their neck it would have been a 20+ point blowout.

Ok, maybe the 1st half tainted my vision of the whole game. I was just happy they didn't really let them back in and make it a squeaker. Too many times we see teams allow opps back into the game and we have seen LSU play down to competition and make it a nail biter. I think they showed they can dominate.

OK the 2nd half wasn't dominating but they held a healthy lead much of the time. it is human nature to relax a little bit with big leads.

I think the biggest take away from this game is that when the big guys are involved early and often, it is going to be a long night for opponents.

We beat the Little Brother Aggies.

Let’s pump the brakes here.

I’m certainly not pissed I think everyone who thinks we didn’t play well in the second half actually watched the game and knows bb the knock on this team is slow starts and last night is the first game I can remember not getting down 7-10 points in a while.

Yeah, Reid showed his potential on offense for the first time. If he can continue and build on that we have a great opportunity to go deep into the tourney or win it all, IMO.

There were some points that we definitely looked dominant. But, we also allowed them to claw back in the second half.

Overall, it was a very good game, that still left some coaching points for WW.

Again, the biggest positive is that these guys now know they can win without Tremont. That’s a huge confidence boost for them and helpful for Tremont. Now he knows he doesn’t need to carry the team. He can play within himself, hopefully limiting the turnovers from poor decisions.

nope. that was one of if not our worst offensive game of the season. defensively we were awesome in the first half which ended up being the reason we won the game, the second half was much less impressive. we still didn't box out enough. we took WAY too many dumb 3's. we were very lucky to be playing against such an awful team last night.

Now, all that being said, I was very excited to see how well we played D last night, and that energy we had on both ends for the first 15 minutes when we went up 34-13 is exactly how we need to come out in these next 2 road games for 40 minutes each. I understand that it's easy to start to daze off when you can just basically not even try and still win by double digits, but I'd rather we didn't do that

I mean... sort of. I think they got within 9 at one point with a few minutes left. I think with Tremont in the lineup and/or with a normal shooting night by our standards we win by 25+ last night.

Yeah. True. They never fully got back in the game. But they did cut a 21 point lead down to 9. Nothing to be overly concerned with. But it’s something WW can use as a coaching point.

Indeed. I would have liked to have seen us really step on their throat a bit more. But at the same time I'll gladly take a double digit conference win without Tremont.
