They have more endowment money than all other SEC schools combined

Yep, A&M is Part of the UT System which has over $20 Billion in endowment money for the University of Texas and little brother. When Texas modified in State constitution in the 1870’s, lawmakers were smart enough to set aside 2.1 million acres in West Texas devoted to funding higher education. Once oil was discovered, the money started rolling in and hasn’t stopped since.

FTR, I’m can’t stand A&M ; however the school is loaded with money and not afraid to spend it.

A&M and Texas belong together because without Texas they seem to have lost their identity. Both schools get lots of oil money so they try to outspend each other. Texas has more national tradition but A&M feels they are more successful lately because they are in the top conference. Because they don’t play every year in the main sport or share a conference, they both claim superiority. Texas basically already had another natural rival in OU so they stopped worrying about A&M and focused on beating OU because that is all that is standing between them and the playoff lately. Now, even though A&M hasn’t even sniffed the SEC crown, they think they can bully the teams in the SEC with “we got oil money and can buy a top coach so look at what we are Gonna do”. This is just a repeat of all they said when they brought Sumlin in. The best thing to do is ignore them until they ever do anything. Until then, they have at least 6 teams (LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Missouri) with better resumes than them in this century.
